Learn Green in NJ

New Jersey’s Green Program of Study incorporates curriculum frameworks
for three industry-specific pathways—Sustainable Architecture and Design; Green Construction;
and Energy for a Sustainable Future. All three pathways are aligned with New Jersey’s Core Curriculum Content Standards.

They share a common foundation that provides students with strong academic preparation for college and careers; a focus on environmental science, sustainability, and renewable resources; and fundamental technical skills and knowledge related to the design, construction and energy utility industries. The flexibility in the program offers schools and colleges the option to implement all three industry-specific pathways or choose just one or two to focus on.

The first phase of the program is set to roll out in six pilot school districts in September 2011. Districts interested in learning more about the program and the pilot process are encouraged to attend NJDOE’s upcoming informational session on December 10.
